Becoming a Tutor

Literacy Volunteers of Sullivan County needs volunteer tutors. We have a serious literacy problem in Sullivan County--1 out of every 5 adults is functionally illiterate. You can give the joy of reading, writing and speaking English by becoming a tutor.

Volunteer tutors are at the heart of the mission of Literacy Volunteers. Tutors help students acquire the skills necessary to reach their literacy goals. Students include English speaking students and those with limited English proficiency.
