Literacy Programs

Reading is a critical skill in today's world. Adult students come to us for many reasons: to obtain jobs, get better jobs, read to their children, read directions on prescription medicines, complete employment applications, and so forth. It is difficult to survive without English literacy skills.

Tutors are trained to deliver literacy services to basic literacy students and to students whose first language is other than English. Basic literacy students are those adults whose first language is English, went to school in our country, but still need to improve their literacy skills. Students who have English as their second language come to us from many countries. These students, for obvious reasons, cannot function without conversational skills, vocabulary, reading, and writing skills.

Our literacy programs offer the student an opportunity to be tutored one-to-one; individual needs are met. Students are encouraged to set realistic goals that can be achieved at a comfortable pace. In this manner, students experience success.

Please give us a call at 845-794- 0017 or e-mail us at lvasc@in4web.com for more information.
