Basic Literacy

Our Adult Literacy program offers students the opportunity to be tutored one-on-one. Students are encouraged to set realistic goals that can be achieved at a comfortable pace.  There is a pressing need for our services in Sullivan county, as about one in five of the population lacks basic literacy skills. These individuals struggle to read a menu or prescription, fill out a job application, or read a bedtime story to their children. If you know someone who needs our services or wish to become a tutor, contact us.

English as a Second Language

We have a culturally diverse population in Sullivan County, with 28% of our residents speaking languages other than English in the home.  We offer ESL tutoring, one-on-one, in small groups, and conversational group settings. We can also offer small classes at your place of business. There is an opportunity for any skill level.

Learning English helps integrate newcomers not only into the community but the economy as well, strengthening it for all. To become an English tutor contact us

We help prepare adults to take the  TASC™  a High School Equivalency (HSE) diploma  that is jointly administered by DRC/CTB and the New York State Education Department.

The test is available to adults who did not graduate from high school or whose diplomas may not be recognized by New York State.

We offer one-on-one tutoring as well as computerized instruction and TASC™ readiness exams, all to prepare the student to receive their HSE. Contact us for more information.
